Colorado gubernatorial candidate Marc Holtzman’s campaign manager has up and quit.
![]() |
Dick Leggit got caught feeding the press bogus polling numbers, then shrugged it off as routine political games, saying “It’s what we in the election business call spin."
In his resignation letter, Mr. Leggit pointed to opponent Congressman Bob Beauprez as the true Axis of Evil behind his admitted but unfortunate actions. "Beauprez has shamefully launched a campaign of distortion, innuendo and false statements carried out through staff and surrogates," he wrote.
Meanwhile, Mr. Holtzman underscored his desire to give voters "the leadership they deserve" by issuing a prepared statement thanking Mr. Leggit "for his loyalty and hard work."
. . . . . . . . .
(In case someone looks me up: For the record, I am nobody’s surrogate. Nor have I yet decided whose leadership I most deserve.)
