It’s weird enough that millions of Americans pay billion-dollar companies for the privilege of being walking brand advertisements.
Now seems that some consumers — especially Generation Y types between 18 and 25 years old — are willing to get paid to plaster a corporate logo on their bodies as a temporary or even permanent tattoo.
And there’s a market for their space.
Marketing consultant Eric Chester points out that Goodyear offers four free Dunlap tires to anyone who tattoos the “flying D” logo on their body. Other companies with flesh-logo promotions include Volvo, Budweiser, NetZero and Toyota.
There’s even a new website called “leaseyourbody.com” that hopes to be a kind of clearinghouse for people wanting to make a few bucks off their skin.
I guess it was bound to come to this.
